Marions Journey is an interactive story and collection of minigames tailored to the oral testimony of Marion Camrass life during the Second World War. Born in Poland in 1932, her story takes her from fleeing the Germany army in 1939, travelling across through several countries, till eventually settling in Glasgow in 1946.
The game follows each stage of her long journey, asking players what they think Marion should do when she arrives at a crossroads. Players can read facts to help immerse them in the story and give them context for the choices.
This game was produced by Gathering the Voices. The Gathering the Voices project has gathered and made available online oral testimony from men and women who sought sanctuary in Scotland to escape the racism of Nazi-dominated Europe. A written account of Marion Camrass’ testimony and many others like it can be found at gatheringthevoices.com.
